Food quality / graded

Every food
gets a grade.

Rubric grades what you're about to eat on how processed it is and how nutritious it is, and shows you the protein it actually delivers. Scan it in the store. Or point it at your pantry and cook what's already there.

The rubric

Three criteria. Published weights.

You can see exactly how a score is built, and why a food lost points. Nothing about the grade is a black box — and the grade is the same for everyone who scans it.

45%
Processing

How far it has travelled from food. Scored on the NOVA scale, 1 through 4 — whole ingredient at one end, industrial formulation at the other. Weighted highest because it predicts health outcomes even after sugar, fat and sodium are accounted for.

35%
Nutrition

Sugar, saturated fat, sodium and salt weighed against fibre and protein. Scored A through E on Nutri-Score — the nutrient detail that processing alone doesn't capture.

20%
Fibre

Fibre measured against carbohydrate, which is what separates a refined grain from a whole one. Meat and oil have no carbohydrate, so this isn't counted against them. Fibre added back into a formulation counts for less than fibre that was there all along.

Protein is measured, not graded.Every card shows protein per 100 calories, but it stays out of the score — more protein isn't the same as healthier, and the nutrition component already counts it. If you set targets, protein decides what gets recommended to you first. It never changes what a food is worth.
Two jobs

In the aisle, and at the counter.

Job 01 / Shopping

Grade it before it goes in the cart.

Scan a barcode and get the grade, the score, and the reason in plain language — “NOVA 4, ultra-processed; low protein for the calories.” No account, no sign-up, no limit on scans.

Job 02 / Cooking

Cook the best thing you already own.

Tell Rubric what's in your kitchen. It finds what you can make right now with no shopping trip, then ranks those meals by the same score — highest protein, least processed, first.
